PROPOSAL

• I decide to research all Solar System planets, and find some interesting information about each. That information should attract the viewer even he or she is not really interested in astronomy, planets and similar things. I also decide to find some original pictures of planets, to know how they look in actual photographs.

• I will photograph food from very close up so that it is possible to see all the details and structure of particular food, and make that food texture become something mysterious, something different than just a everyday thing. Moreover, I want that viewer cannot understand what kind of food they see in the photograph, so they can guess and try to identify. I am going to use Cannon macro lense’180’, so I can zoom every single detail and texture of food.

• Later I will Photoshop images to create similar colour that each planet have. Not really planning to use program a lot, just to change a colour balance or contrast to create more vivid colouring in these images.

• I am planning to give a handout with all Solar System planets, their statistics and images. Another handout going to be a portfolio with photographs that I did for this project and I also going to show two movies which is related to this topic.

Documentary

I believe that is very hard to draw the line between any kind of photography and documentary photography. Why? Because all images which was taken years ago, and also images which only going to be taken in the future is already some kind of documentary. A documentary of moment of time, a documentary of event or thing what happened only at that time, only once in the life. I am thinking about this project and finding really hard to decide what kind of images to use. Maybe, my understanding about documentary photography is wrong, and images I likely use for this project is not a documentary images.

homework- imaginery lighting

We had to experiment with any possible light. That could be sunlight, lamplight, or any other kind of light source. We had to choose from three topics: ‘the morning after (the night before)’, ‘the witching hour’, ‘the one I love’. I chosen to shoot science laboratory in Sunday afternoon, when no one around, I was trying to create some mysterious feeling about empty laboratory spaces, with all these tubes and weird equipment. Changing daylight lamps intensity, combining them with table lights or using only one light in the darkness I manage to get these images.

third assignment- narrative

I chose these four images as my narrative. The narrative is not that obvious and if you have to look at one image you cannot tell the big difference between them because single image doesn’t work that good as it works all joined together. There you can see a lady smoking and her face changing in each image. But when you look closer you can easily see that the cigarette is not a cigarette, it is only a pen. First look gives us a clue that it is rich lady with a fancy hat enjoying her time. But when looking closer its easy to see that her make up is not perfect, and she actually smoking a pen. This picture reminds me a second world war and its horror where people were condemned to suffer hunger, homelessness and death. But ladies were ladies in all times even they have to live in a jungle or survive awful things in the war. They always wanted to be beautiful. It’s easy to see in her eyes that she is having a thought time and that these eyes saw much more that we could imagine

second assignment- vernacular photography

For this project I had several ideas, at the beginning I decide to use images of people who don’t know they been photographed and images of my own holydays and travels. I was planning to change them in Photoshop and make more professional like. But after discussion with my classmates and tutors I decide not to do that. I was thinking is this what I really would like to show as my final images? Are they really interesting?
But finally idea comes along and I change my project completely. Instead of using my own images from holydays and travels, I decide to collect them from somewhere. So I visited my grandparents, asked mom and my aunt also some friend to spare me at least one old photograph from their past. I want to create a small collection of these photographs like those people who collecting found images. Also I will try to go to second-hand shops around area I am living and maybe there something unexpected is waiting for me.

first assignment- flatness and space

first image with birds was taken from computer screen, so it is
flatness and space in the same time. second image i did inspired by another photographer, who was taking pictures of jungles and
creating  a wall from trees in it. third one looking like moon or some
planet surface but it is only a dirty cooking pan with some washing liquid.
